Eurolat primarily produces for Schils BV and other companies within the VanDrie Group. Through close collaboration with Schils BV, the quality requirements of both raw materials and end products are optimally aligned with the nutritional needs of young animals. Eurolat specializes in producing fat concentrates using the Co-Spray technique. This process utilizes a spray dryer to reduce fat particles to a minuscule size, homogenize them, and coat them with a layer of whey powder or skimmed milk powder. Beyond fats, vegetable proteins can also be incorporated using the Co-Spray technique, allowing for the partial replacement of dairy proteins or the enrichment of the final product with additional proteins.

Adding a small amount of vegetable protein to a young calf’s milk diet accelerates and optimizes protease adaptation, enhancing protein digestibility. At Schils, we call this the DuoPrep+ concept. Incorporating DuoPrep+ in CMR helps prepare the calf’s digestive tract for weaning by introducing a controlled amount of vegetable protein.

Incorporating raw materials into CMR using the Co-Spray technique ensures that fats and/or vegetable proteins remain stable in solution and achieve optimal digestibility. Additionally, the Co-Spray technique enhances taste compared to competing products and improves the visual quality of the final product. Co-sprayed products exhibit little to no sedimentation in prepared milk, unlike CMR where fats and vegetable proteins are added separately. The usability of Co-Sprayed CMR is highly user-friendly due to its superior quality, easy mixing properties, high solubility, and stability in solution.

Eurolat’s production process adds significant value by integrating fats and vegetable proteins into Schils’s CMR. This collaboration enables Schils to formulate CMR tailored to both customer preferences and the nutritional needs of calves.
